Together, We’ll Break The Bias
For over three decades, Women Build has been breaking bias to empower women in creating a gender-equal world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
Women—particularly women of color—face disproportionate access to opportunity, which can affect their ability to find a decent place to live. Housing affordability is a crucial women’s issue.
Nearly 78% of Habitat homeowners are single mothers. A Habitat home provides the stability that a mother and her family need to succeed. After building and purchasing an affordable home through Habitat KC, women build strength, stability and self-reliance for themselves and their families.
Through construction experiences and educational programming, Women Build encourages volunteers and financial supporters to challenge stereotypes, fight all forms of inequality, and advocate for themselves and each other.
No Experience Necessary
No experience is necessary to build with Women Build. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved and improves the community that you share.
