“This was our second year volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City and we already cannot wait for our next one. Working in the mortgage industry, we have the opportunity to help people become homeowners every day, but partnering with Habitat we get to take it a step further and literally be a part of building affordable housing options in our community. It’s hard work, but rewarding! The entire Habitat crew is amazing and so wonderful to work with. We are so fortunate to be a continued partner.” —Amanda, Guild Mortgage Company

“It’s an amazing feeling to see women and other individuals in the community come together to build my home. I know this experience will empower my family by providing us with healthy living conditions and a chance to finally look forward to the future.” —Khadija Yussuf, Habitat KC Homeowner
Veterans Build
Veterans Build is impacting the lives of active duty and veteran families by assisting with critical home repairs and providing volunteer opportunities to help veterans fulfill their desire to connect with and serve their community.
With the help of community partners, we completed 17 critical home repair projects for 28 local veterans and their families, like George, who now has a brand new roof to keep his home healthy and dry.

“Having my roof replaced by Habitat KC has made a huge difference in my life. Due to my back injury, I wasn’t able to get on my roof myself, and it’s truly amazing to have an organization like Habitat for Humanity who cares deeply about serving local veterans in our community. ” —George Calhoun, Marines Veteran
