Lykins
Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City is partnering with the Lykins Park Neighborhood Association and several non-profit and for-profit entities on a multi-year project to transform the Lykins Park neighborhood. Over the next several years 75-100 new homes/units will be built, and 100-150 homes will receive minor and critical home repairs through the combined work of Habitat KC and other community partners.
Habitat KC is the first agency to begin work in the neighborhood with the planned construction of five new homes. In addition, we have committed to providing 25 homes with minor and critical home repairs in 2020-2021.
Being a homeowner, it’s going to mean a lot—security, stability for raising my son. It’s a new chapter and new beginning for my family.”
— Elizabeth Francis, future Habitat KC homeowner
With Habitat KC, Elizabeth is building the first new home in the Lykins neighborhood in 27 years. Use the button below to read more about Elizabeth and see photos from the wall-raising event.
