At Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home—both in our local communities and around the world. That’s why we’re proud to take part in Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program, an international effort to build and improve housing.
Habitat KC staff and volunteers will travel to the Dominican Republic to work alongside local families and support critical home improvements. With a housing deficit exceeding 1.4 million units, many families in the province of Monte Plata live in informal settlements with dirt floors, deteriorating roofs, and limited access to essential services.
Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic is committed to changing this situation by strengthening infrastructure, repairing homes, and enhancing community resilience.
Together, we’ll be part of this life-changing work—installing concrete floors, replacing roofs, and improving neighborhood facilities.
From Kansas City to Monte Plata, we’re united by the belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live. We are honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity Dominican Republic to build a stronger future.
The Global Village build will occur annually. This year, it will take place from May 31 to June 7. Stay tuned for more information.
