Donate to ReStore

At Habitat for Humanity ReStore, donations build homes and hope. Drop off your donations or let us pick them up for FREE.

Why donate to ReStore?

There are so many reasons to give your local ReStore the items you no longer need or want. We accept donations from individuals, businesses, contractors, and suppliers. Here are a few ways you can impact your community by donating:

It helps the community.

Proceeds from every ReStore purchase help local families build brighter futures for themselves with Habitat for Humanity.

It helps the environment.

Every single item donated to the ReStore equals less usable material being thrown in a landfill, and that's a benefit to everyone.

ReStore offers FREE pick-up.

We'll come and collect your large donation free of charge. Schedule your pick-up today by calling (816) 231-6889.

It's tax-deductible.

While your donation helps support Habitat's mission, it also helps you by providing a tax deduction to the extent allowed by law.

What can I donate to Habitat ReStore?

We accept donations of new and gently used appliances, household furniture and residential building supplies. With a few exceptions, we look for items that you would find in a “big box” home improvement store that we determine will sell in our retail stores.

Read below for the general guidelines of materials that we accept and review the drop-down menu before you donate your items.

Materials must be reusable:

Must be usable by homeowners, small business owners and contractors for updating, repairs and renovations.

Structurally sound & complete:

Must be complete, intact, sturdy and free of major damage.

Functional:

Must be able to do what it was made to do. It needs to be ready to work “off the shelf” without any repair.

Cosmetically appealing:

The item must be appealing for reuse “as is” in another person’s home, something you’d give to friends or family.

Sellable:

Our trained staff must determine that the item will sell in our store.

Do you have questions?

Reach out on our ReStore Hotline and we’ll be happy to answer any questions that you may have.  Call us at (816) 231-6889.
