Welcome home, Sharae!
After 14 years of infestations, noisy neighbors, and unanswered maintenance requests, Sharae Bandy was ready to stop renting and start building stability for herself and her family.
“With the rent increases and different management, it always feels like you’re in jeopardy,” says Sharae. “My mom always said I needed to move, but if I moved, the only way I would do it is if I got a house of my own. Finally, it’s happening!”
After applying again in 2021, she was selected for a brand new home in the Wendell Phillips neighborhood.
“When I found out, it was so surreal. Being a homeowner will give us stability and peace of mind, no longer having to worry about rent increases and infestations. I just want the benefits of paying my hard-earned money for something that I actually own.”
