Assistant Store Manager

Full-time: 40 hours per week

JOB SUMMARY: The ReStore Assistant Manager will be responsible for store operations when the store manager is absent.  Responsible for maintaining a clean and friendly environment.  Manages the inventory while providing a well-assorted strategy.  Trains associates and volunteers to provide customers with a knowledgeable staff.  Executes quick and easy checkout at the registers and upholds the store return policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Position operates at a fast pace and influences associates to do the same.
  • Manage daily store operations, openings, and closings.
  • Ensure all donated merchandise is clean and ready to be sold before placing on the sales floor.
  • Manage an environment that respects everyone and creates a friendly shopping and donor experience.
  • Provide the direction each day for staff, volunteers, and temporary workers.
  • Maintain a safe workplace for all staff, volunteers, and temporary workers to include adhering to all audit regulations.
  • Drive a robust volunteer program working with the volunteer manager to encourage consistent volunteer involvement.
  • Encourage associate performance using financial data metrics to achieve goals
  • Accurate and timely processing of daily deposits and daily drawer audits.
  • Efficiently and effectively handle store operations in the absence of Store Manager
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Basic computer skills, fluent in Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years personnel management experience, volunteer supervision experience preferred
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of building materials preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis and spend majority of day on foot.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged duration, walk, climb, bend and squat.
