Full-time: 40 hours per week

Location: Kansas City Metro Area

Direct Reports: Collections Drivers, Driver Assistants, Donor Managers, Office Assistant

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Logistics Manager will schedule all inbound and outbound shipments, provide leadership to our team of truck drivers, driver assistants and incoming and outgoing phone staff. This role has the responsibility for keeping transportation costs low. This role is responsible for seeing that our fleet of trucks are maintained and that all D.O.T. regulations are adhered to.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee scheduling of online and phone donations.
  • Work closely with Donor Managers to schedule business donations. 
  • Insure process between Donor Managers and logistics team is seamless.
  • Manage the logistics team and directly supervise Donor Mangers, Office Assistant, Collections Drivers and Driver Assistants; coordinate the schedules, operations and logistics of their respective activities.
  • Recruit and train all logistics team direct reports.
  • Negotiate rates on temporary rental equipment.
  • Serve as D.O.T. coordinator by maintaining current knowledge on applicable D.O.T. regulations; maintain all required D.O.T. records.
  • Schedules preventative maintenance and general upkeep on ReStore vehicles and related equipment; maintains vehicle records.
  • Maintain safety records and coordinate/facilitate assigned training to the team.
  • Work closely with Asset Protection Manager to protect the assets.
  • Coordinate activities with the ReStore Managers and serve on the ReStore leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Friendly, outgoing, helpful attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Maturity, responsibility and reliability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Honesty and integrity in handling retail sales revenue.
  • Basic math skills with computer and cash register literacy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Knowledge of building materials and home improvement a plus.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with limited climate controls.
  • Bilingual ability is helpful, but not necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

  • Able to set priorities and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Firm understanding of all applicable safety, environmental, and D.O.T./fleet regulations and practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office and QuickBooks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field. 
  • Two years of logistics field experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:

  • Regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise.
  • Work onsite within ReStore retail environment locations and offices.
  • Ability to work and manage onsite events, which may be at HFH construction sites.
  • Outside events, meetings and presentations may be required. Some evening and week-end meetings may be required.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires manual labor and construction duties and use of tools.

Individual may be required to sit or stand as needed. The position may require walking primarily on a level surface at various times throughout the day. The individual may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist or lift as required to file documents, store materials or move materials on the job site throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. Individual may be subject to intermittent moderate noise levels.
