Human Resource Administrative Coordinator
Full-time: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm)

JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Administrative Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the affiliate’s human resource department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain strong working knowledge of Habitat for Humanity Kansas City’s policies.
- Establish good business relationships with all employees, management and other departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provide clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Maintain all applications, resumes, and inquiries with regard to any open positions.
- Conduct or assist with new hire orientations and onboarding.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and holiday parties.
- Place employment ads when needed utilizing various resources.
- Assist new employees with online forms in Paylocity system.
- Schedule screening appointments for new hires.
- Prepare and maintain employee files.
- Update and maintain employee contact list in Excel.
- Special projects and other duties, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in human resources preferred.
- General knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Commitment to Habitat’s housing ministry goals.
- Ability to work independently with self-directed priorities and work as part of a team.
- Ability to relate to people of different races, faiths, and income levels.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Ability to multi-task, with excellent time management skills and follow through.
- Ability to work with volunteers, board members, staff, committees, homeowners and general public.
