Human Resource Administrative Coordinator

Full-time: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm)
Primary Team Leader: Vice President of Human Resources

JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Administrative Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the affiliate’s human resource department.  


  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Habitat for Humanity Kansas City’s policies.
  • Establish good business relationships with all employees, management and other departments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provide clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Maintain all applications, resumes, and inquiries with regard to any open positions.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientations and onboarding.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and holiday parties.
  • Place employment ads when needed utilizing various resources.
  • Assist new employees with online forms in Paylocity system.
  • Schedule screening appointments for new hires.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files.
  • Update and maintain employee contact list in Excel.
  • Special projects and other duties, as requested.


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources preferred.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Commitment to Habitat’s housing ministry goals.
  • Ability to work independently with self-directed priorities and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to relate to people of different races, faiths, and income levels.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task, with excellent time management skills and follow through.
  • Ability to work with volunteers, board members, staff, committees, homeowners and general public.
