Development Coordinator

Full-time: 40 hours per week

Job Summary: The Development Coordinator will support database systems for the Resource Development Team (fundraising and volunteer). This position will assist with donor and volunteer stewardship. Duties include data entry, reporting, donor and volunteer cultivation, and acknowledgment.


Resource Development Responsibilities:

  • Manage the process of entering all donor and gift information accurately.
  • Organize and maintain donor data entry for gift records and pledges so that processing, tracking, reporting, and acknowledgment of gifts are performed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to reconcile the database each month.
  • Maintain consistent and timely donor gift receipting and donor acknowledgment.
  • Generate and mail donor acknowledgment letters.
  • Pull data for mailing lists, solicitations, annual reports, events, and other donor mailings.
  • Generate donor reports and dashboards, including KPIs for the Resource Development Team.
  • Create event sign-ups, campaign pages, and donation pages in CRM System – GiveEffect.
  • Assist with fund development activities as assigned.


Volunteer Services Responsibilities:

  • Manage the process of maintaining volunteer records, statistics, and the volunteer database.
  • Ensure that volunteer liability waivers are submitted online.
  • Produce written information and educational materials for volunteer outreach and stewardship.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with volunteers and the community to help cultivate and steward volunteers into donors.
  • Work with Volunteer Team to respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Place volunteers for specific needs such as construction, ReStore, office, and special events.
  • Assist in developing and implementing formal and informal volunteer appreciation events
  • Work with staff to handle any volunteer concerns or issues.
  • Assist in serving as staff liaison to volunteer groups.


Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City to the community through community presentations.
  • Promote teamwork and foster motivation and appreciation for volunteers and stewardship.


Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree preferred.
  • 2 years experience in the field of volunteer management/Resource Development or equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with volunteer management software and donor database software preferred.
  • Takes initiative and possesses problem-solving skills while working to find efficient solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and complete a high volume of data entry.


Physical Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job:

  • Outside meetings and presentations are frequently required.
  • Some evening and weekend meetings required.
  • Occasional special projects require working on the construction site leading volunteers or overseeing volunteer logistics.
