Development Coordinator

Full-time: Full-time; 40 hours per week

Primary Team Leader: Senior Development Manager

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefits Eligible

Job Summary: The Development Coordinator will support fund development with a focus on corporate giving. The primary role will be to maintain and increase entry-level corporate donors ($1,500 – $5,000).  This person will identify new potential corporate partners and develop comprehensive strategies based on research and evaluation.

 

Resource Development Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategies and evaluations for corporate donors that give annually between $1,500 and $5,000 and have capacity to increase their support.
  • Respond to all corporate sponsorship/team building inquiries and make a financial ask in support of Habitat KC.
  • Respond to all corporate matching donation requests.
  • Manage administrative paperwork associated with Habitat for Humanity International donors.
  • Oversee corporate peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
  • Work with Senior Development Manager to plan and implement Women Build and Pride Build.
  • Utilize donor database (Giveffect) to log interactions with all donors. Partner with Database administrator to provide reporting and analysis to review progress and guide strategy.
  • Provide oversight for cultivation and stewardship events that engage corporate donors including: lunch and learns, corporate wall raisings and groundbreakings and visit sponsors on the construction site
  • Create and prepare cultivation and solicitation communications (letters, proposals, and reports) for a portfolio of corporate donors.
  • Assist with fund development activities as assigned

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree preferred
  • 2 years experience in the field of volunteer management/Resource Development or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • Strong negotiation and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly collaborative in approach; possess energy, professionalism, motivation to work independently and proactively, and a drive to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and carry out comprehensive fundraising plan set forth by the Organization with the ability to work with professional and volunteer leadership.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and donor management software.
  • Passion for Habitat’s mission and goals to build a world where everyone has a decent place to call home

Physical Requirements Necessary to Perform This Job:

  • Outside meetings and presentations are frequently required
  • Some evening and weekend meetings required
  • Occasional special projects require working on the construction site leading sponsored volunteer groups.
