As part of the Habitat KC family, you understand the power of community action. Thank you for your continued support during this time and for playing your part in promoting the well-being of our entire community.

Many of our homeowners are in positions at the forefront of the crisis, including health care workers, civil servants, service sector employees; those to whom a missed paycheck can mean catastrophe. If you were planning on volunteering, shopping at a ReStore, or supporting Habitat in the coming weeks, we strongly encourage you to support our mission through an online donation today.

Habitat KC Homeowners

This crisis is causing a ripple effect of financial hardships across the country, and we want you to know that we are committed to keeping you in your home. If you fall behind on your mortgage payment, as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, contact us. We can help with a short-term suspension of payment. This means:

  • Your payments will be suspended for the next 2 months
  • We won’t charge late fees
  • We won’t report a past-due status for this account to the consumer reporting agencies
  • At the end of the initial 2-month payment suspension, we will guide you on the next steps which may include: a continuation of the payment suspension; moving the missed payments to end of the loan; or a modification to address longer-term financial changes that may impact your ability to keep up with the monthly payments
  • We will not take foreclosure activity during this period
  • If you’re in an active bankruptcy, we recommend you speak with your bankruptcy attorney to see what options may be available to you

You may contact us at (816) 924-1096 ext. 1040, or by emailing Kylie Navarro, director of Homeowner Services, at knavarro@habitatkc.org.
